About The Author

Victor Joyce grew up in New York City Brooklyn in the Ingersoll Houses of Fort Greene. He graduated from Manhattan College in New York City with a degree in Organizational Management. He retired from the New York City Transit Authority successfully completing thirty three years of service. Victor has volunteered as a basketball coach in the youth ministry at his church for thirteen years. He has five children three daughters and two sons, five grandchildren three granddaughters and two grandsons. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York City and his hobbies are writing, art, music and sports.

From an early age Victor Joyce artistic spirit shined brightly, it first blossomed in the third grade he noticeably possessed a natural artistic flair for creative expression. During that period he was always writing stories or drawing pictures at home, school or outside on the concrete around his neighborhood to the amazement of onlookers. This spark ignited even greater during Junior High School, where the seeds of story telling were carefully nurtured. One key highlight was when he wrote a poem about Muhammad Ali’s epic clash with George Foreman, because the composition was so dynamic they inserted it in the school year book. His ability continued to evolve through dedicated study and inspiration at the High School of Music and Art in Harlem, New York City. That experience not only sharpened his artistic skills but also his writing.

His early artistic background has influenced him with a vibrant and beautiful structure for poetic verses in everything he writes. Some of his influences are; Nikki Giovanni, James Baldwin, Langston Hughes, Gwendolyn Brooks, Mark Twain, Robert Frost, Arthur Miller and Maya Angelou.

Victor is a dedicated and passionate poet and author, he brings a unique voice to the world of verse weaving emotions and experiences into every line. With an upcoming book set to be released later this year he continues to explore the depths of human connection through poetry that resonates both domestically and internationally. Beyond his professional achievements, Victor Joyce embraces a warm, approachable spirit that invites readers to join him on a journey of reflection and creativity.
